Exciting opportunity for a Social Worker in Women’s Health Care, located in Round Rock, TX.
Serves as a liaison between patients and government assistance program agencies in obtaining medical assistance and services and identifies patient needs through social assessments. Must perform all job duties in accordance with the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners Code of Conduct, National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and in compliance with state, state center policies and procedures.
Completes an initial patient social history, as well as maintains appropriate updates. Communicates on a professional level with patients and others (internally or externally) to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems.
Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Attends work on a regular schedule and performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of casework principles; of community resources; and of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of social work.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with patients, families, other customers (Bilingual Preferred-fluent in English and Spanish).
Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment and reach sound decisions.
Ability listen and ascertain the needs of others.
Skilled in operating personal computers using Microsoft Office 365 and Excel.
Initial Selection Criteria:
At least one (1) year employment experience in a medical health care related facility performing social work services.
Applicant must not have been convicted of a job-related misdemeanor or felony offense. Applicant must reveal if he or she has had an action against any professional license.
All applicants are subject to a criminal background check.
Registration or Licensure Requirements:
Licensed by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners as a Social Worker (LBSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
